Anne Vogt Jewelry fine handcrafted sterling silver jewelry featuring rare and unusual gemstones
HELLO AND WELCOME
Hello, and thank you for visiting Anne Vogt Jewelry. I work in sterling silver and I specialize in rare and unusual gemstones and minerals. Many of them were one time finds from obscure locations, or there is only one deposit in the world where it's found. Most of the stones are listed in the links at the top of each page. Clicking on these links will take you to that stone's page where you will find examples of what I have in stock, and a shopping cart where you can purchase the jewelry. Clicking on an image will give you a larger photo of the jewelry.
All settings are created from sterling silver, sometimes with accents of 14K gold or brass. I individually fabricate each piece of jewelry, meaning I build the setting from sheets of silver sheet, bezel, and wire. The rare and unusual stones make these pieces unique. The rarest gemstones from deposits that have been completely mined out include Chinese writing stone from California and some picture jaspers from Oregon. Other stones that are being stolen from mines, have little left in the mines, or are not actively mined include African sugilite and cobaltocalcite, Australian gaspeite, and Arizona's azurite, chrysocolla, and malachite. Some minerals like Canadian eudialyte, Siberian charoite, Madagascar's ocean jasper, Uvarovite from Russia's Ural Mountains, and lapis lazuli from Afghanistan are difficult to reach because of the terrain, politics, or weather. Other stones from occasional discoveries include Russian rainbow pyrite, drusy agates, fossils, and dalmatian jasper. I also use less unusual stones like, onyx, opals, garnet, aquamarine, peridot, topaz, and tourmaline. If you don't see some of the stones mentioned here in the shopping cart, contact me to see what I have in my art fair inventory. More info about the stones can be found in the "About the Stones" section.
If you've seen something at a show that you don't see in the shopping cart, e-mail me. When I return from a show, I can describe the pieces in stock, or send you images. My inventory and stones supply changes continually.
I've tried to make this as interesting as possible while letting you learn a little bit about the process and the uniqueness of the stones.
Meanwhile, enjoy what's here. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Please be patient when waiting to hear from me. I am a one woman show and will contact you as soon as I can.
